Gemba Walk - PSU Schnitzer School of Art + Design
Please join our Cascadia-Portland CoP for a Gemba Best Practices event at the PSU Schnitzer School of Art + Design Building; a 95,000 SF Mass Timber facility that will be home to PSU's School of Art + Design, Student Health and Counseling, and Speech + Hearing Sciences,
This session will provide attendees with practical insights into conducting effective Gemba walks, a cornerstone of Lean thinking.
Participants will learn how to:
- Structure and lead a purposeful Gemba walk
- Tailor the walk’s scope to focus on quality, safety, or other key performance areas
- Engage teams in continuous improvement through observation and dialogue
The event will include a project tour at the mid-point of construction giving participants the chance to "Go and See" PSU's first Mass Timber project on campus first-hand.

Parking is available in the structure across the street.
The event will start at the Swinerton field office on the first floor at the corner of SW 6th and Harrison. Attendees are encourage to bring their own PPE if possible.
