This session brings together industry leaders to address the growing national concern of mental wellness in construction. Each speaker will share insights from their unique perspective—highlighting challenges, real-world successes, and actionable strategies.

The discussion will focus on:

  • The current state of mental wellness from our perspectives
  • Tangible outreach efforts our respective companies are implementing right now
  • Practical, adaptable strategies to support workers and create lasting cultural change
Attendees will leave with both a deeper understanding of the issue and a toolkit of ideas to implement within their own organizations.

Speakers:

Avnit Kang, Division Safety Manager at Southland Industries, has over a decade of experience specializing in construction safety and advancing mental health integration. By championing well-being as a core safety imperative, Avnit enhances jobsite performance, strengthens teams, and helps build a more resilient workforce in an industry often hesitant to address mental health.

Andrew Tranovich is an MEP leader at Webcor focused on client service, trade partnerships, and team development for mutual success. His diverse background—including roles with three ENR top-ten design-build mechanical contractors, as a commissioning authority, and as an Owner—provides a creative, balanced perspective that drives collaboration and results.

Charlie Hall, Regional Sheet Metal Superintendent at Southland Industries, has 22 years of experience leading sheet metal work, with a focus on healthcare and OSHPD projects. Beginning his career as a Local 104 apprentice, he now oversees project coordination, scheduling, prefabrication, labor staffing, and training, ensuring quality and on-time delivery while strengthening collaboration with the Sheet Metal Workers Local union.

Nick Norgaard is a Project Executive at Del Monte Electric, specializing in design-build and IPD. With extensive experience in target value design, he applies lean principles to strengthen MEP trade partnerships and drive collaboration. Committed to people first, Nick focuses on building a better, more integrated future for the industry.
