Accountability and Reliable Promises – Sacramento Area
Effective project delivery depends on teams making clear commitments and keeping them. This session introduces the foundations of Accountability and Reliable Promises, a core component of Lean Construction that strengthens trust, improves workflow reliability, and reduces rework. Participants will learn how to make and manage commitments using the Reliable Promising Cycle, clarify expectations, and build accountability through transparent communication. Through discussion and practical exercises, attendees will gain tools to improve coordination, enhance team performance, and create a culture where promises drive predictable results.
Instructors:
Tom Martin, Sutter Health, the Regional Manager for Project Delivery in the mid-valley. Tom and his team drive capital projects from inception to first patient in all facets of ambulatory and acute care.

Renowned for driving change in construction with Lean and Agile practices, he simplifies work processes significantly. As a Registered Scrum Trainer™ and Lean Construction Institute Chairman’s Award recipient, Felipe leads through coaching, social media, and his book, 'Construction Scrum.'
