• Stephen Greulich - University of Pennsylvania Healthy System - Penn Medicine 
  Steve Greulich is Associate Vice President, Real Estate Design & Construction at the University of Pennsylvania Health System (Penn Medicine).  Steve led the Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) team on the Pavilion project at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.  Steve has 40 years of experience in the design and construction industry, both as Owner and Builder.  Steve received a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering degree from Penn State University. Steve has been with Penn Medicine since October 2006 and has had oversight of many capital construction projects in the past 16 years, ranging from small renovation projects to the $1.6B Pavilion project to campus-wide master planning efforts.  Prior to Penn Medicine, Steve worked for large CMs in the Philadelphia and Washington, DC areas as well as for SAP, managing all aspects of a new headquarters project.

Panelists:

• John F. Bennett - Lehigh Valley Health Network
  As Vice President of Facilities Management and Design & Construction since 2018, John is Lehigh Valley Heath Network’s (LVHN) senior facilities and construction executive, reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer. In his current role, he has oversight over all facilities planning, design, construction, maintenance, and repair services across the Network’s 9M s.f. of healthcare facilities ranging from physician offices to health centers and twelve hospital campus’. John has been on his Lean Journey since 2012, facilitating the development of 50+ Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) teams including LVHN’s most recent greenfield campus, Lehigh Valley Hospital-Carbon located in Lehighton, PA. Prior to his current position, John was Senior Director of Design & Construction for Universal Health Services (UHS) based in King of Prussia, PA with oversight over a national healthcare construction program. He is a retired naval officer, having served in the Navy’s Civil Engineer Corps, supporting the Navy and Marine Corps in contingency engineering, facilities, and construction services on military bases across the world. John received a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Villanova University, a Masters in Construction Management from Stanford University and is a registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Pennsylvania.
• Kent Doss, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt - Array Architects
  Kent’s healthcare work has varied from small, focused interventions within existing facilities to large scale, freestanding buildings. Guided by an understanding that each project, regardless of size or scope, is an opportunity to realize improved processes, efficiencies and outcomes, Kent has earned long-term client relationships and national awards for design excellence. Beyond design quality, Kent is also a champion for alternate, collaborative delivery methods such as Design-Build, Design-Assist and Integrated Project Delivery.

• David Barto - Penn State Health
  David started his career as a consulting engineer designing health care facilities.  He then leveraged those experiences as Director, Planning & Construction at the Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.  In 2020, David became Vice President, Facilities of Penn State Health and coordinates design and construction, maintenance and operations, and building life safety activities. David earned a bachelor’s degree of mechanical engineering from Bucknell University and a professional master of engineering degree from the University of Maryland.  He is a licensed professional engineer and an ASHE Certified Healthcare Facility Manager.  Dave also currently serves as a board member of the Pennsylvania Society for Health Facility Engineering local ASHE Chapter.
