Some of the most disciplined, fast-built projects in modern history used the principles we now call Lean and Integrated Project Delivery. The Empire State Building was completed in one year and 45 days, under budget, in 1930. It was a working example of design-for-production, deep team integration, and Just-in-Time supply almost a century before those terms had names. The same disciplines are showing up today on projects under extreme schedule and cost pressure, and modern research on megaproject performance keeps landing in the same place. One trait runs through every one of them: a team that designed how it would work before it designed what it would build. Come ready to talk. Christian Pikel, Managing Principal, The ReAlignment Group, has spent his 25+ year career in the construction industry focused primarily on collaborative methods of project delivery and continuous improvement. Starting out in in design-build, he has been engaged in integrated project delivery for over 14 years first as a collaborative partner, then as an owner project lead and now consulting coaching. A balance of diverse construction experiences, lean production & process improvement focus, and intuitive facilitation skills allows Christian to coach from a unique perspective, create Ah-ha moments and relationships across all levels of the project org chart.
