The Lean Builder - A Summer Study Action Team - Part 1
To build on this past Spring's Introduction to Lean, we'll be conducting a Study Action Team on The Lean Builder. Not too dissimilar from a book club, the goal of a Study Action Team is to create a vehicle for continuous improvement, support an environment for discussion, and empower people to reflect and take action on what they've read.
The Lean Builder is written in story form from the perspective of a young superintendent first learning about Lean and thinking about how best to apply it on his project. This book is a great read for anyone looking to enhance the way Lean is being implemented on their projects throughout all stages of Design and Construction.
This Study Action Team session will be the first of two sessions and we'll be focused on Topics #1-4.
#1 – Daily Huddles
#2 – Visual Communication
#3 – The Eight Wastes (through the lens of a construction project)
#4 – Constraint Management
#5 – Pull Planning
#6 – Last Planner System and Look-Ahead
#7 – Root Cause Analysis through Percent Plan Complete (PPC)
