Each day of the Congress Core Program carries FIVE (5) CEUs toward renewal of the LCI Certified Practitioner-Construction (LCI-CPC).

The 2023 Congress Core Program is registered with AIA CES for 11.25 LU credits. This course is a two-day event - attendance at both days is required for credit. Learning Day courses are registered with AIA CES for an additional 4 or 8 credits.

Golf Tournament Foursome The 3rd Annual LCI Congress Golf Tournament will take place at Plum Hollow Country Club, featuring a nationally recognized championship golf course. Set within beautiful surroundings and sweeping elevations just outside of Detroit, the club hosts tournaments including PGA, Ryder Cup, and the Western Open. There will be a shotgun start at 11:00 a.m. ET and each sponsored hole will have a separate contest such as marshmallow and frisbee golf. This is a perfect setting for a fantastic day of golf! Gemba Tour: Bedrock's Hudson's Site Hudson’s (also known as the “Big Store” and “J.L Hudson’s”) broke ground in 1891. As the store’s physical footprint grew over the decades, so did its place in the collective experiences and memories of Detroiters. Ultimately, the store would undergo 12 expansions, reaching a height of 25 stories and covering an entire city block. For generations, Hudson’s was the premier retailer in Detroit and one of the most important department stores in the country. Despite its history and outsized presence in Detroit, Hudson’s closed its doors in 1983, and was imploded in 1998, leaving a large vacant space in the heart of this great American city. Bedrock, a full service commercial real estate firm based in Downtown Detroit, saw an opportunity to develop this site and restore the grandeur to Woodward Avenue’s 1200 block. The project, currently under construction and led by Barton Malow, includes1.5 million square feet of office, retail, food and beverage, hotel, residential, event and meeting, parking, and activated open spaces designed by world famous architect SHoP Architects and local Architect of Record Hamilton Anderson Architects. At 685.4 feet tall, the tower part of development will provide unique city views at every level. An indoor-outdoor space for activations will anchor the ground-floor retail. A new plaza between the two buildings will cut through the center of the development, creating a central destination for Detroit. Progressively designed office spaces, dramatic event venues, state-of-the-art residences and a 5-star hotel will be joined together at an unbeatable location. Gemba Tour: ProMedica Toledo - Generations of Care Tower ProMedica Toledo Hospital’s 756,600-square-foot (70,290-square-meter), 13-story, 309-bed patient tower, a campus addition and replacement tower, needed to minimize waste, maximize efficiency, optimize functional performance and provide the best possible patient experience in a patient-centered care environment. To fulfill ProMedica’s vision, HKS’ design and research teams worked collaboratively in a parametric applied research project that informed the unit design to increase caregiver efficiency and time at bed side. Gemba Tour: US Point of Entry - Gordie Howe Int'l Bridge The project consists of the US point of Entry Facilities associated with the new Gordie Howe Bridge. The Gordie Howe Bridge is the new international crossing international crossing between the United States and Canada. The bridge spans the Detroit River. Although this project does not include the cable-stayed bridge itself, we are coordinating tour up the Bridge tower on the Detroit side. Gemba Tour: Superior Electric - Exploring Pre-Fab Shop Operations As our customers have pushed to lower project costs and shorten delivery schedules pre-fabrication operations have become a must in the industry. Superior Electric has invested time, effort, and capital to transfer construction labor hours from the field environment and put them into a controlled space where work is preformed safer and productivity is higher. These conditions are allowing us to better control schedule, reduce installation cost, reduce material waste, and deliver a quality product to our customer. Over the past 2 years these operations have been essential in our ability to perform on some of the largest projects in the country, enabling us to keep pace with construction schedules and flexible enough to manage change in an emerging technology thus allowing us to be a leader in the electrical industry of South Eastern Michigan and Middle Tennessee.
